Kendra M. Hall-Kenyon was named the interim dean of the David O. McKay School of Education in July of 2022. Dr. Hall-Kenyon earned her bachelor’s degree in family science from BYU, and a MA and PhD in human development from Columbia University. Her research focuses on early literacy instruction and assessment and teacher education. Hall-Kenyon joined the BYU faculty in 2002. During her time at the university, she has received the Nancy Peery Marriott Award for Scholarship in 2013 as well as the Young Scholar Award in 2008, which is given to faculty members who demonstrate promise and excellence in all three areas of evaluation—research, teaching and citizenship. She served as chair of the Department of Teacher Education from 2016–2022.
