Acknowledge Event 2024

Thank you for joining us in commemorating Juneteenth. Your presence helped honor our shared identity as children of God and the sacred worth of every individual. This celebration invited us to reflect on the ongoing journey toward freedom and equality—principles that align with the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and our divine call to love and serve one another. Together, we created a space for hearts to be “knit together in love” (Mosiah 18:21), recognizing the historical struggles and celebrating the rich contributions of Black Americans. Your participation affirmed the value of diverse life experiences, perspectives, and gifts that strengthen and uplift our BYU community (1 Corinthians 12:12–27). Through meaningful connection, cultural expression, and shared reflection, our Juneteenth gathering fostered an environment of belonging (Ephesians 2:19), and we are grateful you were part of it.

We hope you’ll join us again next year in 2026 for another meaningful Juneteenth celebration.
