Christ-Centered Leadership Foundations Initiative

Purpose:
The Christ-Centered Leadership Foundations Initiative centers the word of God as the source of how people think about, write about, and act in leadership roles, responsibilities, and behaviors.

Objectives:
  • Center the word of God (i.e., scriptures, General Conference addresses, patriarchal blessings, personal revelation) as the primary leadership text in teaching, student engagement, research, fostering dialogue, and personal and professional application.
  • Explicate, educate about, and promote the Christ-Centered Leader Model (CCLM) to develop moral and ethical leaders in principle and practice.
  • Provide a scripturally-based leadership description that defines the ideal when leaders center their relationships and responsibilities on Jesus Christ. Christ-centered leadership: (1) transcends title, position, or status (self); (2) promotes self-confidence through receiving divine inspiration and striving for righteousness (self); (3) exerts positive influence (stewardship); (4) seeks relief for the oppressed in body, mind, or spirit (God's children); and (5) submits to the will and commandments of God (God). (Acts 10:38)
