The Sorensen Center had the honor of hosting the Leading by Faith Conference in winter 2022. An opening panel of esteemed guests - including Elder Jeffery R. Holland, Liz Darger, and Melissa Sevy - were able to invoke a spirit of learning and encourage an environment of growth. Within this session, Jeff Thompson, the center's director, introduced the Christ-centered leadership model. Illustrating the center's plans to “emulate the Savior’s leadership and rely on the light of His Gospel to inform all that we do”.
The conference also included two break-out sessions giving the option for individuals to hear from speakers, such as Kim B. Clarke, Richard Gill, Kyle Reyes, Connie Sokol, Jette Halladay, Noelani Wayas, John Bingham, and Laura Bridgewater. We then met together for student-led presentations and were delighted to hear faithful leadership stories from peers in our spheres of influence.
The conference then concluded with a discussion from Boyd Craig, Hank Smith, and John Bytheway. The Spirit of leadership poured from every room of the conference and was truly an experience, enhanced by the participants attending.
