Leading by Faith - Art Competition 2022 | BYU Sorensen Center

A few days before the Leadership Conference with Elder Holland, we held our first annual Leading by Faith art contest. Students from all over campus created wonderful pieces of art that exemplified the theme of leadership and showed off their natural talents.

Judges J. Kirk Richards, Jeff Thompson, and Ashley Whitaker had a tough choice to make. After reviewing around 50 pieces, a winner was chosen. Congrats to Eliza Peterson and her piece No Other Way. Overall, the art contest was a success, and we cannot wait to continue this event in the future.

No Other Way

“Eve was the first leader in mortality, taking a step into the unknown away from the clarity and predictability of Eden. She had to trust her father, whose goodness she knew, to be with her as she moved, forward in faith. I like to imagine that she received an answer to her wondering prayer “Is there no other way” Armed with the trickle of revelation, she had to act on the little light that she had and lead the way into mortality. With her decision to eat the fruit, she opened the doors for all of us to experience this life full of challenges, beauty, and opportunities to lead alongside her.”
