Sarah first graduated from BYU in 1995 with a Bachelor's Degree in Zoology. She took a break from her BYU education to rear five small children until, in 2004, she started methodically taking courses toward a second Bachelor's Degree, this time in Nursing. After graduating from BYU in 2011 with her Nursing Degree, she worked for 4 years as a registered nurse in women's health and mental health before returning to BYU in April 2016 for a Master's Degree in Nursing, which she completed in 2018. She became certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner shortly thereafter.

Sarah worked as a nurse practitioner at Mountainlands Community Health Center and at the BYU Student Health Center before applying to teach full-time in the College of Nursing at BYU. She joined BYU's Nursing's faculty in July of 2021 and has enjoyed teaching Nursing Ethics as well as leading clinical experiences at long-term care facilities.

Sarah enjoys hiking, baking, knitting, traveling, and spending time with her family. She and her husband, Erik, have 5 children.
